From The Family of Senior Chief Dan Healy

The Healy family thanks God that Osama bin Laden no longer walks this earth.
This man put into motion the events that killed thousands on September 11, 2001 and which eventually culminated, for us, in the death of my son, Dan Healy in Afghanistan when his rescue helicopter with seven other Navy SEALs and eight Army Nightstalkers was shot down as they were trying to save four other SEALs on the ground.
We understand that this does NOT mean that the War on Terror is over, but at least the "Head of the Snake" has been cut off!  Other radical Muslims, who he has tainted with his vicious, scewed outlook, will most likely retaliate throughout the world but we WILL prevail!  More than that, we MUST prevail.
When we have young men like my son and so many others who haven't hesitated in sacrificing their lives for our safety then we can rest assured that our democratic way of life will continue despite attacks from within and without.
How proud we are of our men and women who completed this decade long mission. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

  1. Now I lay me down to sleep, one less terrorist this world does keep. With all my heart I give my thanks, to those in uniform regardless of ranks. You serve our country and serve it well, with humble hearts your stories tell. So as I rest my weary eyes, while freedom rings our flag still flies. You give your all, do what you must...with God we live and God we trust. Amen.

  2. My father was awarded the Silver Star at the Battle Of Metz by General Patton. Dad was my hero. So many of his friends did not come home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Dan.

  3. Thank you Natalie for raising a son who was driven to serve this country in such a selfless way.

May you rest knowing that more sons will be spared due to the removal of Bin Laden.
